Brush with Bamboo - Plant-Based Bamboo Toothbrush

Over 4.7 billion plastic toothbrushes that will never biodegrade are dumped into landfills and oceans every year worldwide.

Every piece of plastic ever created still exists. The plastic pollution crisis is so severe that 5 gyres of floating plastic, each the size of the United States, have swelled up in our oceans.

Harmful chemicals leached by plastics are present in the bloodstream and tissues of almost every human being, including newborns.

Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth. Because it contains naturally-occurring antimicrobial agents, there is no need for using fertilizers or pesticides during its cultivation. Our bamboo is totally organic and wild. After we harvest a bamboo stalk to use it for toothbrushes, another stalk takes its place and grows to full size within just 2 years — a remarkable growth rate!

Brush with Bamboo is brought to you by the Kumar Family who lives in Southern California, USA. In 2008, they began the conversion of their small suburban home into an organic permaculture garden and model of sustainability that now produces 5,000 pounds of food annually, harvests rainwater, and serves as a learning center for gardening. They named their house The Growing Home. Today, they also manage a small organic farm near their home that provides healthy organic food to many families through a Community Supported Agriculture program.
